BUSINESS CARD ETIQUETTE!
When receiving a business card from someone act as though you have received a gift.
The idea is to show interest in another's card and, in effect, in their business. This will more times than not make that person interested in you and your business. A request for your card will
almost always follow. Do not enclose your card in emotional correspondence. Funeral condolences get well soon cards
and congratulations should always be written by your own hand and never accompanied by your business card. Keep your
cards crisp and up-to-date. Also, don't force your business card on anyone. The times and places to hand them out
will not be few and far between. You should wait for the opportunity to come up naturally like when someone asks for
your card or you find yourself in a dialog about business. Business card etiquette is sort of like dinner guest
etiquette. Obeying the mores and ethical rules will probably result in a return invitation. In the business card
world a percentage of your income is at stake. Let them know that you are fully intending on keeping their card.
Tuck it away securely in a portfolio or your wallet or purse. A little time spent in business card etiquette can
go a long way in your quest for a quality business.
